Pirtle Farms has been in Roswell New Mexico since 1926. George Elbert Pirtle along with his father Thomas Jefferson Pirtle started Pirtle Farms along with his wife Sarah Helen Whitehead Pirtle and their children Darrell, George Thomas, Charlotte, and Joann Pirtle.
In 1946, after World War II, Darrell Pirtle returned as a Sergeant Paratrooper with the 82nd/101st Airborne Division, he married his grade school sweetheart, Dora Fay Isler, at Tabernacle Baptists Church on December 7. He met Dora at the LF.D. school in 6th grade. Their 68 years of farming together has been full of hard work, perseverance, sorrow, but most of all joy and blessings. Darrell and Dora had a total of four children; Tretha, George, Paul, and Randy. George, Paul, and Randy would later carry on the legacy at Pirtle Farms.
Randy married his best friend, Ladonna Harrall and have four children; Ryan, Jack, Cliff, and Keri. Paul married his best friend, Denise Longmire and have three children; Dwight, Janie, and Aaron. George married his best friend, Barbara Pirtle and have two children; Patrick and Raelynn. Years later when their children grew up, Ryan, Jack, Cliff, Keri, Dwight, and Aaron were brought into the family business.
Ryan Pirtle married his best friend Kerri Ann Rowland and now have four children. Jack Pirtle married his middle school sweetheart, Lindsey Carter and they have two children. Cliff Pirtle married his high school sweetheart, Aysia Ridge and they have three children. Keri Lawson married her best friend, Isaiah Lawson and they have one child. Dwight married his best friend Emmi and have three children. Aaron Pirtle married his best friend Dani and have three children.
